VantageSouth Bank provides several overdraft protection options to provide peace of mind and access to funds when you need them the most.

Please note that withdrawals from savings and money market accounts, including automatic overdraft transfers to checking, are limited by federal regulation to six per month.

Overdraft Line of Credit –

  • Provides automatic overdraft protection.  Link your overdraft line of credit to your checking account and funds will automatically move to cover your overdraft.

  • *You may apply for this line of credit at any branch location.  There are no application or usage fees for this service.  Finance charges apply when your line of credit has an outstanding balance.

    *Subject to credit approval

Overdraft Privilege –

  • Discretionary overdraft service offered to eligible checking accounts – as defined in our Discretionary Overdraft Privilege Disclosure - permits the Bank to authorize and pay for transactions made by checks, ACH Transactions and Automatic Transfers, and Online Bill Pay when sufficient funds are not available in your account. With Overdraft Privilege, if you inadvertently overdraw your account, we will cover the overdraft, up to a predetermined discretionary limit, instead of returning your item(s) to the payee. Please note that standard Overdraft/NSF Personal Fees apply and Non-Personal Fees apply.  If you are not interested in participating in Overdraft Privilege, please call our Client Care Center at 1.855.8VS.BANK (855.887.2265) or visit one of our convenient branch locations.

Accounts will be charged the standard Overdraft Fee of $36.00 for handling each overdraft created by check, ACH, in-person withdrawal or other electronic item that is paid and $36.00 for items returned.  An overdrawn balance must be repaid within 30 days.  We may not pay items under your overdraft privilege if you do not maintain your account in good standing by bringing your account balance to a positive balance within every 30-day period.  Transactions may not be processed in the order in which they occurred and the order in which transactions are received and processed may impact the total amount of fees incurred.

  • Overdraft Privilege does not include ATM and everyday debit card transactions unless you affirmatively agree, or “opt-in” to overdraft protection for these transactions. If you “Opt-in” then overdraft fees, as outlined above and in the fee schedules, may apply. For further information about our Overdraft Practices refer to “What You Need to Know About Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees."

Why Should I Opt-In for Overdraft Coverage on ATM and Debit Card Transactions?

  • Unless you tell us that you want us to continue to apply our standard overdraft services to your ATM and everyday debit card transactions we will decline any transactions that overdraws the account.  If you are interested in opting-in to ATM/Debit Card Overdraft coverage, select the option that is most convenient for you:
